How to measure for curtains
In front of the window (in front of the frame)
Measure the width of the window and add at least 5 cm on both sides. This ensures that the Roman blind closes the window properly.
Measure from the desired mounting point (for example, just above the window frame or on the ceiling) to the floor.
In the window frame (inside the frame)
Tip: Always use a metal tape measure and measure carefully. Record all measurements in centimeters and do not round up.
Measure the width at three points: top, middle, and bottom. Note the smallest measurement and subtract 1 cm from it. This will ensure that the curtain fits properly in the window frame.
Measure the height of the window.
Check that the window frame is at least 5 cm deep to ensure that the Roman blind can be installed correctly.
Measuring height for wave and pleated curtains
Do you already have a rail, and is it attached to the ceiling?
– Measure the distance from the bottom of the rail to the floor in three places (left, center, and right) and subtract 1.5 cm from the smallest measurement if you want the curtains to hang just above the floor.
Are you installing a new rail first, or is there already an existing rail on the wall?
– Ensure that the rail is level. Then measure the distance from the bottom of the rail to the floor and subtract 1.5 cm if you want the curtains to hang just above the floor.
Don't have a rail yet?

Measuring height for loop curtains and ring curtains
Are you installing a new curtain rod, or is there already an existing rod on the wall?
– Ensure that the rod is level. Then measure the distance from the top of the rod to the floor and subtract 1.5 cm if you want the curtains to hang just above the floor.
Don't have a curtain rod yet?
– A curtain rod is usually mounted about 15 cm above the window. Measure from 15 cm above the window to the floor. Subtract 1.5 cm if you want the curtains to hang just above the floor.
Width measurement of curtains for rails or rod
Do you already have a rail or curtain rod?
– Measure the total width of the rail or curtain rod and add 5 cm.
Don't have a rail or curtain rod yet?
– Add 20 cm to 30 cm on both sides of the window for a nice overlap and a more luxurious look.
Wave curtains require special wave rails with wave gliders. These ensure that the wave structure of the curtain
is maintained, even when you open or close the curtain.
Good to know:
- Based on the length of the rail, we calculate exactly how wide the curtains need to be.
- We maintain a depth of 8 to 10 cm for the wave, so that the curtains hang nicely and the waves are clearly visible.
Don't worry! Thanks to our Perfect Fit Guarantee, you can have your curtains shortened or narrowed by a local upholsterer/tailor. We will reimburse 75% of the alteration costs, up to a maximum of €100. This is possible once per order and upon presentation of a valid receipt or invoice from the upholsterer/tailor.
This warranty applies only to making the curtains smaller, not to lengthening or widening.
